Fast foods are not necessarily bad, but it contains large amounts of carbohydrates, added sugar, sodium and unhealthy fats. Fast foods often high in calories yet provides little or no nutritional value. And when fast foods frequently replaces nutritious foods in the diet, it can lead to bad health outcomes. These excessive calories can cause weight gain leading to obesity, and hence increase the risk for respiratory problems like asthma and shortness of breath.

Here are some negative and alarming effects one can expect in a very short time if he/she is a fast-food lover;

1.OBESITY RISK:

If you replace your balance diet to one of fast food, then be ready for obesity in a very short time especially Belly fat. Its simply because of high calories. Obesity puts you at risk for developing chronic diseases.

2.YOU WILL STARVE:

Fast food contains high calories with low nutritional content. Too much fast food lead to lack of necessary nutrients. So your body is temporarily full with food that don’t provide nourishment and you will not satisfied of your stomach fullness for long.

3.RISK OF HEART DISEASES:

Usually used fats in fast foods are saturated fats (fats that are solid at room temperature). These fats can accumulate in arteries and raise your blood cholesterol level which eventually leads to increased risk of cardiovascular diseases.

4.SKIN PROBLEMS:

Simple sugars, white flour and empty crabs like French fries can be blamed for skin issues i.e acne.

5.MEMORY DECLINE:

Fast foods with high saturated fats i.e bacon burgers, fried foods, and milkshakes may impact brain function and memory. High intake of saturated food impair memory speed and prospective memory (ability to remember to do what you intended).

6.CONSTIPATION:

Most fast foods doesn’t contain dietary fibres and lead to GIT problems like constipation. Dietary fibres commonly found in fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts and seeds. Fibres play a dominant role in digestive system.

7.KIDNEY AND STOMACH WILL SUFFER:

Someone with already compromised heart, liver or kidney i.e in conditions of congestive heart failure, cirrhosis and kidney diseases, salt can contribute to a dangerous built up of fluids. Sodium may also increase the risk of kidney stones.

8.TEETH DECAY:

Drinking large amount of soda increases the amount of acid in mouth, leading to poor oral hygiene, tooth decay and cavities.

9.INCREASED CHOLESTEROL LEADING TO ATHEROSCLEROSIS:

The high fat content in fast foods builds up the plaques in arteries and prevent the flow. Consequences produced are atherosclerosis leading to hypertension, acute myocardial infarction, and stroke. All of these are life threatening conditions.

10.                HYPERACTIVITY:

Besides mental effects like anxiety and depression, artificial colors and sodium benzoate (preservative) used in fast foods makes you hyperactive.

OTHERS:

Frequent usage of fast foods may increase your cancer risk, bloating, decline mental health, increased blood sugar level, increase inflammation due to chemical toxins used in packaging of fast foods in plastic utensils, weaken bones  and lethargy.

 

The very root complication of fast food is actually obesity. Further it increase the risk of heart diseases, diabetes, some cancers, sleep apnea and asthma. Arthritis and pregnancy complications are most likely in obese people
